Straight To DVD's trailer!

I'm back here with news from less than an hour ago!

The pop-punk band from Baltimore All Time Low has just released the official trailer of Straight To DVD II. Straight To DVD was a documentary full of performances, backstages, stories and basically All Time Low being as they are... anything but normal (in a good way) ;)

If you want to watch Straight To DVD, click here.

And the 9th September, these guys are releasing Straight To DVD, which seems like it's going to be as amazing as the first one, or, who knows? Maybe even better. We won't know until the 9th September. Judge by yourself by watching the trailer that's just been posted, below I'm sharing it!

"Carry On"

Talking about bands that are releasing brand new music, post-hardcore couldn't definitely lag behind, right?

Memphis May Fire, the worldwide known post-hardcore band from Texas, has announced that they're releasing their brand new album, titled This Light I Hold, on October 28th.

In advance, they've shared with us what seems to be the first single off the album, Carry On. The sound of their music doesn't seem to have changed, although some complain that the lyrics aren't as good as their oldest music in comparison.

It seems as though these lyrics complaining about haters, can bring some haters more as well. However, other defend this song and the power that it transmits.

In which side are you?

"War"

Hi there, let's talk about pop-punk! And, since we're going to talk about pop-punk, why not talk about Sum 41's latest single?

As you might know, Sum 41 is releasing a brand new álbum in October 7th, 13 Voices. The first song we got to listen off this new album was Fake Your Own Death, the living proof that not only they're back, but also they're back with the same pop-punk style we've always loved about them!

This new track keeps this style, that turns more to an alternative rock style with a meaning that can remind us to Pieces. Some say it has references to the singer's problems with alcoholism.

Nevertheless, the song itself mentions any kind of war that we might have to face with ourselves, those wars that aren't against other people, it's just those fights in which we try to overcome something that feels like a damn war.

As they say, somedays it's just so hard, but nobody said wars were easy - it's a war after all, right?

Jonathan Young

Hello guys!

Want to go back to your childhood by listening to some music? Do you want to listen to songs that you've likely listened to as a kid in a different way? What about as some rad rock covers? That's more than possible thanks to Jonathan Young!

Jonathan "Young" Fried, a youtuber and musician from Minnesota, in the US, has been rounding YouTube for a long while now, posting covers of many different kinds, but specially covers of Disney's songs! He's covered plenty of songs off films such as The Lion King, Tarzan, The Little Mermaid, and so on.

However, there's more! Also, Jonathan Young has his own original stuff.

I'll let you check that by yourselves - you won't be able to deny that he makes amazing renditions of Disney's songs.

Why do we listen to sad music when we're upset?

It's late at night, maybe 1, 2, 3... AM, and for some reason, you end up listening to (what people call) emo music. Well, maybe you don't, maybe you're at a party listening to electronic music and having a lot of fun, but that isn't what I'm talking about, so, let's put that aside.

I'm talking about when it's late at night, you're on your own, feeling down thinking about your life, and you find yourself listening to sad music. It might even sound senseless, because, if you're not feeling okay, listening to sad music? Isn't that going to make everything worse?

You've got a point there if you think so. In fact, sometimes, listening to sad music makes you feel even sadder and, you know, that only leaves us fucked up emotionally - which isn't cool at all.

Why do we do that then? You want an answer? Here it is. (Well, at least this is why I do it, every person is different, but most people I've heard about agree with me in this)

If you're feeling down, it comforts you to know that someone out there understands you, that there's someone out there who knows what you're going through - because that means you're not the only one, that means you're not as alone as you feel. Am I right?

Yeah, you will probably cry a river while listening to those sad lyrics. Nonetheless, it's like when you're opening up to someone and they just say "I know how it feels like, I've been there". Of course you don't want them to suffer, you don't like the fact that they've suffered (I guess), but their understanding embraces you.

The difference is that you didn't have to say a word. The difference is that you do not know that person, and they do not know you. The difference is that you only put a song on. They don't know you, but for 4 minutes 51 seconds, it feels like they know you better than anyone else in this world.

That's enough, that's all you needed. Someone understood you, someone told you that it was okay to hurt, that it was okay to feel all these things. Someone told you they felt the same way you did. Someone told you everything was going to be okay.

Do you ever feel this way? Let me know your experiences on this on the comments below!

"Dragon Sickness"

Hey there!

Today, the post-hardcore band Villain Of The Story, after not releasing music for a while, has released a brand new single, Dragon Sickness.

It's said that bands get softer with time, but this definitely isn't the case! Not only these guys have positively progressed since their earlier music, but also they've become heavier.

In addition, let's take a listen to the lyrics - who hasn't met a person like the one they talk about, who takes advantage of others? Those people can give you a hard time, even ruin your life... however, with time, those people end up alone, because no one wants to be played with. Maybe this would be a nice track to dedicate them ;)

Keep it up guys, I'm sure you'll go far!
