Real Friends

This band I am going to talk today is called "Real Friends". The band was formed in 2010, but finally got signed with Fearless Records in December 2013. They are an emo/pop-punk band from Chicago. They fastly became one of the biggest unsigned bands of this genre, and before got signed. The band is currently formed by Kyle Fasel (bassist), Dave Knox (guitarist), Dan Lambton (vocalist), Brian Blake (drummer) and Eric Haines (guitarist). They describe themselves as a band who writes songs about being mad and sad. They are in the list of bands for Warped Tour '14, but last year they played in Warped Tour too!
If you haven't heard about them yet, I recommend you to give them a try, they are pretty good. Here you can listen to their song "Late Nights In My Car" below:

"Bones Exposed"

Today, the Metalcore band Of Mice & Men has released their new video for their latest single from their album "Restoring Force". The album was released the 28th of January of this year, and it debuted in #4 in Billboard top 200 the first week!
(I will probably make a review of the album later and talk more about Of Mice & Men)
The single is called "Bones Exposed", and, well, it is amazing. The song is amazing by itself too! I could write a lot and say how amazing both are, but it is way better if you check it by yourselves, you won't be disappointed at all.
Here you can watch the video below:

"Sleepless Nights"

Hey there! Guess who has released a new single coming from their new album, which will be released this year, Memphis May Fire! I don't know if you have heard about them, but they are a Metalcore band from Texas, US. They have released three albums so far: Sleepwalking, The Hollow and Challenger. And, now they are working on their fourth one. The album will be called "Unconditional", and will be released 03.25.14.. Their new single, relased two days ago, is called "Sleepless Nights". Have you listened to it yet? If so, what do you think about it? My personal opinion is that the single is totally amazing, it's by Memphis May Fire, I wouldn't expected less, the lyrics are amazing and the beat, too. But, honestly, it surprised me; in a good way, do not give me to wrong, I love it so much!
Here you can listen to the song below if you haven't, then you can tell me what you think:

Alexander William Gaskarth

Alexander William Gaskarth (Alex Gaskarth). You have probably heard about him. He is the lead singer of a pop-punk band called "All Time Low". All Time Low is amazing and I will probably talk about the whole band later, but here, I'm going to talk about him.

I always say he is a role model, and such an inspiration. And I don't say it without reason.

Alex lost his brother Tom to suicide when he was just 12 years old. Besides, he also suffers from panic attacks and anxiety. He could have decided to give up, but he didn't. He decided to fight and succed. He is an amazing example of being strong and he does deserve being famous and successful.

And, if that wasn't enough, he is great with his fans and a really wise man. His music has saved a lot of lives, and he says that when people tell him that his music has helped them through certain situations he says it 'means the fucking world to him' and also he thanks for that.

He is really funny and talented. He plays the guitar and sings awesomely. Also he is songwriter.

For me, is one of the strongest persons I know, and I could keep on saying about how amazing he is, but, I think it's enough for now.

Below you can see a picture of some quotes of him:

Just if you can't read clearly the quotes, I'm writing them here:
(I start in the left at the top of the picture)

*First picture: "Everybody goes through some bullshit, it doesn't matter how you measure it, it doesn't matter how it weights up to someone else's bullshit..."

*Second picture: "Be your own kind of beautiful, it's super important. Take that to heart, always be yourself"

*Third picture: "You guys are all fucking georgeous you know that right? Inside and out"

*Fourth picture: "Be who you aew no matter what. I swear to God you are the most fucking beautiful people"

*Fifth picture: "This next song goes out to anybody who's ever been told that the way they think or the way they feel is the wrong way to think or the wrong way to feel"

*Sixth picture: "If you do what you believe in and you live the way you want to live you will be the happiest person you can possibly be"

*Seventh picture: "Do not let any motherfucker tell you that you aren't beautiful"

*Eighth picture: "I think people should be able to love whoever the fuck they want to love"

*Ninth picute: "... the fact of the matter is you have to press on, you have to smile and you have to figure out how to keep trucking"

Thirty Seconds to Mars

Thirty Seconds to Mars.
This time I’m talking about a well-known band. You’ve probably heard about them.
To start, I’ll say they are a rock band from Los Angeles. The band is currently formed by: Jared Leto (singer, bassist, guitarist), Shannon Leto (drummer) and Tomo Milicevic (guitarist). They have won a lot of prices, and, last year they won the EMA of best alternative artist. But I don’t really like to talk about this kind of thing. I prefer to talk about music, not prices, because that is what actually matters in my opinion. Because, in the end, we listen to the music, not to the prices and that stuff.
Personally, the first song I ever listened by them was "This Is War". It did make me think. It's a really meaningful song that talks about war, but, really the song talks about peace. It's against war, just saying. It really got me. And when a song by any band gets me that way I usually end up checking up more songs by it. And I did.
All I can say is that their lyrics are amazing and about so many different things. It's not the typical band that just sings about one certain thing, which can be so repetitive.
They're worth listening to, specially if you are into rock music. Below you can give a listen to their song "This Is War". I hope you enjoy them:

Amasic

This band I'm going to talk about is called "Amasic".
(The name comes from the words Amazing + Music together)
They are not very well known over the world, but they do deserve a try! They are a pop-rock/pop-punk band from Montreal, Canada. The band was formed last year, but everything did start before.
Janick Thibault (lead singer and second guitarist of the band), had created a one-man band called "Amasic", where he did everything (vocals, guitar, bass, drums & lyrics). He started using the website YouTube to upload covers of some songs and later original songs. He got a lot of views in YouTube, and attrached the attention of some well-known bands such as Simple Plan (Pierre Bouvier & Chuck Comeau co-wrote a song with Amasic).
But he couldn't play live alone, so he started searching for a band. And he did. His old friend Jessy Bergy (lead guitar) had a band with Mehdi Zidani (the drummer), and they needed a singer. So that, Janick joined and also found in YouTube Matt McCormack (the bassist), then the band was finally completed.
Amasic released one single (as a band) last year called "Another Night", and is working on an EP which will be released so soon, they have said it is finished, and the song co-written with 2 members of Simple Plan will be on it!
I do recommend you to check them out, they are awesome and you won't regret it. Also the original songs by Janick Thibault in Amasic as a one-man band are really good ones, really meaninful and with great rhythms. If you're going to check them out, the songs you should never miss are: "Breaking Apart", "Turn the Page", "Another Night", "For You & Me" and "Lying is the Solution".
Below you can listen to their single "Another Night":

Behind the Pain

Adam Wade Gontier. You might have heard this name before.
Well, he used to be the lead singer of the band "Three Days Grace". He decided to leave the band almost one year ago. But that isn't what I want to talk about.
He had a really tough time struggling with drug addiction, and he went to rehab to CAMH (Center for Addiction and Mental Health) in Toronto, Canada. That whole situation was put into a documentary called "Behind the Pain". He isn't addicted anymore, he is sober. Anyway I really recommend you to watch the documentary, even if you're not a fan of whether 3DG or Adam, it's a really good documentary and really beautiful one too. It really touched my heart. Even you'd like to know that a lof of the songs from the album "One-X" by Three Days Grace were written about that by Adam in CAMH.
Here you can watch it bellow:

"Fake Your Death"

My Chemical Romance "Fake Your Death".
This song was released two days ago, and I dare to say it has broken a lot of hearts, at least mine. Mainly because this song means we are closer to the "goodbye" of My Chemical Romance. And that makes us all so sad, right?
Actually, I couldn't help crying when I first saw the video, honestly.
Also, the song made me wish they just "faked their death" and are coming back together someday, even though it seems impossible :(
Here you can listen to the song if you haven't anyway:

Warped Tour '14

Well, in this first post I'm going to talk about Warped Tour. This year, there are a lot of people complaining because the bands this year aren't very known some of them. In my opinion, the best thing is check those bands out, because I've checked some of them and they were pretty good in my opinion.
I don't live near enough to go to Warped Tour, but I surely would go if I did. And, who knows? Maybe checking all the bands out you discover an amazing band that you fall in love with. Just give them a try :)
Here, to finish the post, I will show you a song of one of those bands. Well, they have played more times in Warped Tour anyway. But, I first checked them out because they were in the list of bands in Warped Tour this year, and they are pretty good: The Story So Far. And this is their song "Empty Space"

Welcome!

Hello! Welcome to “Bands Are Life”. I will post here interviews, quotes, facts, music videos, news … related to bands. There’s not a specific genre of music I will talk to, but usually related with rock music or similar. I hope you like it!
