Get Your Heart On! Album Review

This is the first review I'm going to do about an album. The one I have chosen is "Get Your Heart On!" of the band Simple Plan. I know it was released a long ago, in 2011, but it is never too late, right?
So, Get Your Heart On! (GYHO) is the fourth studio album of Simple Plan, a pop-punk band from Montréal, Canada. It was released the 21th June 2011. I would consider the music style of the album pop-punk or pop rock. The album contains collaborations with artists like Rivers Cuomo (from the band Weezer), Natasha Bedingfield, and Alex Gaskarth (from the band All Time Low).
The album has very different songs, not just in lyrics, also in rhythm and melody. It is most visible in the hit song Summer Paradise, which is not similar to any other song made by the band before. For me, it is my least favorite song off the album, I am not saying is bad, it is very good, I just prefer other songs from the album.
Also, we can notice more "punk" songs with a very powerful rhythm like Freaking Me Out (feat. Alex Gaskarth), You Suck At Love and Last One Standing, that are more similar to the punk songs that we could be able to listen in previous albums like "No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls" or "Still Not Getting Any".
We cannot forget the slower songs of the album, like Gone Too Soon or Astronaut, which have really beautiful, deep and touchy songs.
And, now, to finish, the last song of the album, my favorite one, and a song that "Astronauts" (fans of Simple Plan), and a lot of people more, can relate to. The song is called: This Song Saved My Life. What can I say about it that can describe enough the song? The song was written for the fans and by the fans, and that exact thing makes the song even more beautiful than it is. I had thought about making an entire post about the song, but, who cares? I will talk about the song here though, and if in any other post I talk about the song too, well, I am sorry. The idea of the song came after all the things the band has been told by their fans, about how their music had helped them through hard times, and, how even, in some cases, it had saved their lives. They decided to write the song, like, for them. They came in their Twitter account and said they were going to write a song about them, called This Song Saved My Life, and asked them to say how their music had helped them through the years. So, with the answers they got, Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau started writing a song with all of that, about all of that. The result was a really beautiful and relatable song that explains perfectly us, the Astronauts (I am Astronaut, that is why I am including myself too). It explains the effect their music has had on us, and still does. But, as I have said before, not just Simple Plan, it describes a lot of fandoms (I could even dare to say almost all, if not all), basically, the effect music has in people.
So, this is my review of Get Your Heart On! It is the first album review I write, so I am sorry if it is not very good or anything. I hope you guys liked it and I am also going to post the video of the writing process of This Song Saved My Life, I guess you might like to have a look at it:

Respect Among Fandoms

I am going to talk about something I see so often and I hate it. People from different fandoms insult each other and hate in other fandoms. Come on! We are supposed to be rational people, aren't we? You don't have to like any band out there, you don't have to agree with their music or style or way of thinking, but there's this little word called "RESPECT" that we all should never forget. What's the point of insulting someone's fandom, music, or favorite band? If you don't like a band, okay, don't listen to them.
For example, I am not like a fan of pop music, I just like some certain songs, but I don't go insulting pop artists because of that. We have to respect other people's music taste, favorite bands or singers, fandoms... if we want ours to be respected.
Because, in the end, we all have idols and there is a reason they are our idols, they might make us smile, they might make us happy, and no matter how they do it, but that's the reason we belong to certain fandoms, they might be our escape from reality, even some people's idols are the reason they are alive, so don't judge/insult people because of who their idols are.
And, to all those people who go saying their idols are better than anyone else's, and insult the rest just without reason, grow up, there aren't best idols, just different ways of thinking and considering what for you makes an artist good.
Also, please, don't go telling people of other fandoms, or anyone, to kill themselves, there are some things you should never say, and that's one of them. There are bands, songs, music styles, we might not be able to stand, but respect is something that should be compulsory.
Thanks for taking your time to read this and thanks to everyone who reads this blog, it means a lot <3

SayWeCanFly

The artist I am going to talk today is called Braden Barrie. He is in the one-man band "SayWeCanFly" (which means he does all the parts, singing, playing instruments, writing the lyrics...). He is from Ontario, Canada. What I will talk the most is about his music.
SayWeCanFly is an acoustic one-man band. He has been featured in Alternative Press Magazine, in YouTube channels like BryanStars Interviews...
His songs are always very deep and meaningful and with really good messages, usually life messages. He tries to communicate that "no matter what struggles we face, we always have the power to make it through". Basically never giving up. You will not just hear that in his music, he also has very good video blogs in his YouTube channel that are worth watching.
Of all of his songs, I have decided to post here this one which is called "Scars". For me, personally, is one of my favorites by SayWeCanFly. Is a really beautiful song that did touch my heart. It is about self-harm. If you know someone who self-harms, or you are that person, you will relate to it. And, always remember what Braden said in the beginning of the video: you will never be alone in your darkness, because we hurt together". I will talk about self-harm and that stuff in a post soon, but, for now, just know that you are not alone and that there are a lot of people who love you and care about you, even if you haven't noticed that. Stay strong <3 "We all make mistakes, it's not you but this world you should hate"

May Death Never Stop You

My Chemical Romance. What an awesome band, right?
22 of March of 2013, a date that My Chemical Romance fans, or better called "killjoys", will never forget. It is the day when they broke up. Now, more than a year ago, they have just released what can be considered their "last goodbye" as a band. Why? Because today (offcially) is released "May Death Never Stop You", which is a greatests hits compilation album by them. It has got 19 tracks, incluiding the unreleased song before "Fake Your Death"; and the deluxe version has got an exclusive footage DVD.
Here below you can see the picture of the cover of the album:

"No Ordinary Love"

Yesterday, Memphis May Fire released their video for the song of their new album "No Ordinary Love". The video is pretty good, as the song. But the audio for the song had already been released before, so you have probably listened to the song if you are into this band's music.
Let's talk about the video. It is a really realistic one, it does reflect today's society, how the teenagers act and that kind of thing... a really good video in my opinion.
Well, also, their album Inconditional, has just been released today. The audio for all the songs has already been uploaded in YouTube so you can listen to the songs, if you haven't already. Have you gotten the physical copy of the album yet?
Below I'm posting the video for "No Ordinary Love" so you can watch it, I hope you like it:

Jacoby Shaddix

In this post I'm going to talk a little bit about another singer of a band: Jacoby Shaddix. I usually prefer talking about artists who you can learn from their lives. Because, sometimes, you see what they have gone through and that is something hard, but they found their way through for things to change.
So, here we go. Jacoby Shaddix, if you don't know him, is the lead singer of the rock band  from California"Papa Roach". He is currently married with Kelly Michelle Shaddix, with whom he has three children. Now reading that, you might think his life is perfect and always has been, but, this is not the case.
Jacoby Shaddix has struggled with drug addiction, but, mostly with alcohol addiction. The main reason of it was the fact of touring far from his family and not being able to see them so often, he had troubles with his marriage too.
Also, Shaddix had to fight to overcome self-harming and suicidal thoughts, he admitted in several interviews that he came close to committing suicide.
I see him as such an inspiration, because he suffered a lot, but still decided to fight and live. He finally didn't give up and everything ended up well for him. He and his wife reconcilied and also he went through treatment to regain his sobriety.
Everyone has its own opinion, but, I think this is a story to learn about, as also you will probably listen to me saying more times about many artists more, because I like learning from the stories of band members, at least in my case, I have learnt a lot. Specially I love what Shaddix says talking about all that, like his conclussion: "there's always a reason to carry on". So, I think that last thing said by Shaddix is really true and important, there is always a reason not to give up, to live, all you have to do is find it.
Below you can watch an interview where Shaddix talks about what I have said before:

BryanStars

This is not band related, but I think you might be interested in this.

BryanStars, if you don't know, him he interviews a lot of different bands and artists on YouTube.

He has interviews bands like: Sleeping With Sirens, Pierce The Veil, Simple Plan, Black Veil Brides, Three Days Grace, All Time Low, Papa Roach... also he supports small bands by uploading their videos on YouTube so a lot of people can check them out (because he has over 400,000 suscribers in his YouTube channel, so a lot of people watch his videos...), and he also gives you a lot of music reviews and things you might like to know.

Some days ago, he announced that he is going to go to Warped Tour '14 and hang out with the bands, the people there and that stuff, which is awesome!

If you haven't checked his channel out, it's a must if you're into music and want to have a good time while watching interviews and that kind of thing. Also you will laugh a lot, because his videos are so funny too, I'm sure you won't regret it ;)

"When I Dream"

Yesterday, the pop rock/pop-punk band Amasic uploaded the lyric video for their new song, called "When I Dream". It comes from their upcoming EP called "The Things We Say", that is coming out 3/18/2014. The EP looks like it is going to be amazing, and also it will be the first EP Amasic releases as a band.
Well, the song is totally amazing. It really touched my heart since the first time I listened to it, the lyrics are so beautiful and relatable. And the rhythm is amazing too! I recommend you to check the song out because maybe a song like this is all you need ;) As I usually say, it's better if you check it by yourselves, so below you can listen to the song:
